What we're looking for

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our accounting team in Bedford, New Hampshire. The Staff Accountant plays a significant role in daily and monthly accounting operations. The successful candidate will bring a strong understanding of core accounting principles, GAAP, Excel proficiency, and the ability to communicate effectively across departments. The Staff accountant will work closely with internal teams to maintain compliance with company financial policies and support the preparation of financial statements and related reports.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, and adjustments.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end account reconciliations.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Maintain general ledger accuracy and supporting documentation.
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed.
  • Assist with payroll accounting and benefit-related entries.
  • Prepare schedules and documentation for audits and tax filings.
  • Analyze variances and investigate discrepancies.
  • Support process improvements and documentation of accounting procedures.
  • Respond to internal requests and provide financial data as needed.
Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
  • Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and recurring tasks.
  • Ability to correctly prepare tax reports.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite or similar software.
  • Proficient with Excel (pivot tables, Vlookup/XLookup)
  • Proficient with accounting software.
Preferred
  • Experience working within the telecommunications industry.
  • Experience using ADP and Quick Books, Sage.
  • Experience implementing software.
Schedule

Full-Time (40 hours per week), Monday - Friday, 9 am – 5:30 pm

Compensation

50,000-$60,000/year DOE
