COMPENSATION: $120,000 – $150,000+ Bonus

Position OverviewOur client, a leading defense manufacturer headquartered in Bedford, New Hampshire, is seeking an experienced Senior Contracts Manager to join their growing contracts team. This is a highly visible role responsible for managing a complex portfolio of U.S. Government and prime contractor agreements across all phases of the contract lifecycle. The ideal candidate will bring deep knowledge of federal acquisition regulations, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to collaborate cross‑functionally with program management, legal, finance, and operations teams.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the full lifecycle of government and commercial defense contracts, from proposal and negotiation through execution, modification, and closeout.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for government contracting officers (KOs), PCOs, and prime contractor counterparts.
- Interpret and ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, and applicable agency supplements across all contract actions.
- Lead contract negotiations on terms, pricing, delivery schedules, and special contract requirements.
- Review and provide guidance on solicitations (RFPs, RFQs, RFIs), teaming agreements, NDAs, and subcontract flow‑downs.
- Partner with program managers, finance, and legal counsel to identify and mitigate contractual risks.
- Prepare, review, and submit required reports, certifications, and contract deliverables in accordance with contract schedules.
- Support proposal pricing and cost volume development in coordination with the finance and business development teams.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior contracts staff and contract administrators.
- Maintain accurate and complete contract files and records in accordance with company policies and government audit requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Law, or a related field; advanced degree or JD a plus.
- Minimum 7+ years of progressive contracts management experience within the defense or government contracting industry.
- Thorough working knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and government contracting principles (FFP, T&M, CPFF, IDIQ, BPA contract types).
- Direct experience negotiating and administering DoD contracts; experience with DCAA and DCMA interactions strongly preferred.
- Active Secret clearance required;
Top Secret clearance strongly preferred. - NCMA certification (CPCM, CFCM, or CCCM) highly desirable.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills with the ability to influence at all organizational levels.
- Strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and comfort managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Proficiency with contracts management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Base salary $120,000 – $150,000 commensurate with experience, plus performance bonus.
