Ross A Lurgio Middle School, in partnership with The New England Center for Children (NECC), is seeking a full‑time intensive instruction paraprofessional to work with children with intensive special needs, including summer hours. The role involves understanding and assisting with instruction and behavior management tailored to each student’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP), providing direct educational services, ensuring student safety, incorporating specific educational objectives into activities, collecting data, maintaining student‑specific materials and reinforcers, and maintaining confidentiality.
The candidate must have strong communication skills and be willing to follow direction from case managers or lead teachers.
- Understand and assist with instruction and behavior management targeted to students’ IEPs.
- Provide direct educational services and ensure the safety of all students.
- Incorporate specific educational objectives into ongoing activities.
- Collect data and maintain student‑specific materials and reinforcers.
- Maintain confidentiality and communicate effectively with case managers/lead teachers.
- Work under the direction of the Intensive Instruction Classroom, NECC Clinical Supervisor, or Administrator.
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
- At least 1 year of relevant experience (preferred).
- Previous special education experience preferred.
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
