Controls Engineer

Monday to Thursday: work onsite with colleagues. Fridays: choose your work location, balancing your work requirements.

• Responsible for building controls design utilizing direct digital controls on a variety of building types.
• Obtain and review contract documents; proposals, mechanical plans, specifications, estimates, equipment submittals, etc., for incorporation into the design of an automation system.
• Create installation drawings, submittal drawings, as‑built drawings, and transition to service.
• Develop advanced sequences of operations that meet the project requirements.
• Generate Operation and Maintenance Manuals, and conduct job surveys.
• Review equipment submittals for incorporation into design, and transition these documents to the field.
• Acquire and maintain knowledge of Trane Controls products and offerings along with applicable third‑party devices.
• Work with minimal supervision and advise and guide other engineers.
• Maintain customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective action, communicating with staff, and providing customer feedback and solutions.

• Degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, Construction, Engineering Technology, or equivalent education and experience.
• Or three (3) plus years of experience in the HVAC industry performing project management or estimating roles.
• Familiarity with operation and design of HVAC systems, building automation systems, and/or temperature controls.
• Knowledge of new construction and renovation/retrofit, performance contracting, and service project management preferred.
• Proficiency with Windows operating system and Microsoft Office.
• Experience with a drafting/design program (CAD).
• Understanding of industry standard protocols and requirements for integration preferred.
• Understanding of IT infrastructure and network architecture.
