FPGA Firmware Engineer

Haigh-Farr is seeking an FPGA/FW Engineer to assist in the design and development of our Electronically Scanned Array (ESA) products within our Advanced Products Group. This role would bridge the hardware and software engineering domains and ensure the FPGA logic and embedded software work together seamlessly in our applications.

• Design, code, simulate, document and test full high-speed FPGA systems
• Troubleshoot complex systems, optimize for speed, power and ensure compliance with specifications
• Build and maintain tools and processes for FPGA development
• Partner with hardware, software and system teams to ensure seamless integration
• Produce technical documentation for designs and integration processes
• Work closely with others within your department to understand requirements and meet customer expectations
• Address unforeseen issues to realizescheduled project timeline

• FPGA design using System Verilog/Verilog or VHDL, preferably System Verilog
• Simulation tools (Modelsim, Vivado XSim), UVM experience a plus
• Familiarity with lab equipment:
  Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers
• C/C++, Python, digital signal processing, git
• High-speed interfaces (Multi-Gigabit SERDES, i.e. Aurora/Ethernet/PCIe)
• AMD/Xilinx Vivado experience is a plus
• Experience in the Military/Aerospace/Government (MAG) markets a plus
• Excellent computer skills,proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project
• Independent, self-starter with the abilityto multi-task
• Possess excellent communication skills and positive attitude

• Minimum Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field Master’s Degree a plus
