Mechanical​/Process Engineer

Nanoscale Components, Inc., is seeking a Mechanical/Design engineer to work with a small team to design, build and deploy custom electro-chemical processing equipment for the lithium-ion battery industry. The role involves component and assembly design, prototype building and testing. Ideal candidate will have a strong OEM background in production equipment design, mechanical engineering, and project management. Experience with electro-chemical plating line equipment and Roll-to-Roll operations is advantageous.

• Design production equipment
  • Work with engineering team to design and scale custom prelithiation equipment
  • Develop test equipment to validate scale-up of R&D equipment and procedures
  • Design and detail parts and assemblies
  • Experience with metric drawings and ISO standards a plus
  • Create new designs from concept to finished details and assembly drawings
  • Implement design changes and improvements for existing machines
• Create and maintain engineering data for assigned projects
  • Drawings and 3D data for production
  • BOM(s) in PDM Windchill Software
  • Manuals
• Check parts for quality during manufacturing process
• Maintain and develop vendor contacts
• Work with customers to create layout drawings of new equipment for production sites
• Document project related hours and process costs

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
• 5+ Years’ OEM experience designing industrial equipment
• Experience with 3D CAD programs (e.g. Pro-E, Solidworks)
• Experience in DFx principles and methodologies
• Experience with PLC controls and programming
• Project management experience preferred
• US citizen or permanent resident
