Interactive Government Holdings (IGH) is seeking a qualified, trained and capable individual to serve a Financial Counselor for the New Hampshire National Guard’s Military Readiness Support Services.
The Financial Counselor provides confidential, mission-focused personal financial counseling, education, and resource referral services to Service Members, families, and eligible participants served by the New Hampshire National Guard Military Readiness Support Services program. The role supports financial readiness across the military lifecycle, including accession, mobilization, deployment, redeployment, reintegration, transition, and major personal or career events.
Position Requirements Major responsibilities include (not all inclusive):Individual/Family Financial Planning:
Provide financial counseling and education services to military spouses and families. These services shall be tailored to the unique challenges of military life and shall include, but are not limited to, creating a household budget, managing debt, understanding military pay and entitlements (e.g., BAH, family separation allowance), and planning for long-term family financial goals
Financial, Benefit, and Recruiting Video Series:
Produce and deliver a comprehensive educational video series in a standard digital format (e.g., .MP4) suitable for widespread distribution. The series shall consist of dedicated modules covering the following mandatory topics:
- Thrift Savings Plan (TSP):
Fundamentals, contribution limits, and investment strategies. - Federal Technician Retirement:
Office of Personnel Management (OPM) / Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS) processes for Dual-Status Technicians. - AGR Retirement:
Active Guard Reserve (AGR) retirement calculations and processes. - Social Security:
Integrating Social Security benefits with military and federal pensions. - State & Federal College Benefits:
Step-by-step guidance on utilizing the NH State Tuition Waiver, federal Tuition Assistance (TA), the GI Bill, and transferring benefits to dependents. - Parent-Focused Financial Education (Recruiting Tool): A video specifically tailored for the parents of prospective recruits, educating them on the financial stability, compensation structure, healthcare savings (Tricare Reserve Select), and overall economic benefits of National Guard service.
- Recruit Sustainment Program (RSP) Financial Readiness:
Be prepared to deliver targeted, highly engaging financial readiness briefings to newly enlisted Soldiers, primarily within the eighteen (18) to twenty-four (24) year-old demographic, prior to their departure for initial entry training. The briefings must be tailored to the specific financial needs of young, first-term Service Members, covering fundamental topics such as base pay, basic budgeting, active-duty entitlement changes during training, the Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) for beginners, and avoiding predatory lending practices (e.g., high-interest vehicle loans) - Bi-Annual Retirement Seminar…
