Role DescriptionThe Loan Officer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Bedford, NH. The Loan Officer will meet with prospective borrowers, evaluate their financial profiles, and recommend appropriate loan products. Daily responsibilities include originating and processing loan applications, gathering and reviewing documentation, coordinating with underwriting, and ensuring compliance with lending regulations and company policies. The role also involves providing clear, timely communication to applicants, maintaining strong customer relationships, and working closely with internal teams to ensure smooth and efficient loan closings.
Loan Officers are expected to manage a pipeline of clients, follow up on leads, and contribute to the overall growth of the lending business.
- Demonstrated experience as a Loan Officer with a strong understanding of loan origination processes.
- Solid knowledge of finance principles and lending regulations relevant to residential mortgage products.
- Experience working with underwriting teams and familiarity with documentation and risk assessment procedures.
- Strong customer service skills, including clear communication, active listening, and relationship building.
- Ability to manage multiple loan files, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with loan origination systems and general office software (e.g., CRM tools, spreadsheets).
- High level of integrity, attention to detail, and commitment to regulatory compliance.
- Relevant state licensing and NMLS registration, or eligibility to obtain these credentials.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field preferred, or equivalent practical experience.
