Summary of Objective

The Senior Manager, Visual Inspection, reports directly to the Senior Director of Operations and is responsible for overseeing teams of inspection and packaging technicians across multiple PCI manufacturing sites. This role ensures ongoing GMP compliance and adherence to quality standards across all department staff and processes. The Senior Manager is also responsible for ensuring the timely completion of inspection, documentation, bulk packing, and labeling activities for sterile clinical and commercial products to meet customer needs and PCI's operational goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership and strategic oversight for Visual Inspection and Packaging across multiple PCI manufacturing sites.
  • Develop and manage department schedules to align with customer demands and PCI objectives.
  • Ensure Visual Inspection processes and operator qualification programs comply with applicable regulatory requirements across all markets.
  • Oversee and ensure proper documentation and verification of batch records, protocols, and logbooks in accordance with GMP and PCI standards.
  • Lead investigations and drive resolution of deviations related to Visual Inspection and Packaging, ensuring effective root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Establish, analyze, and maintain key performance metrics, including defect rates, inspection throughput, and on-time/right-first-time delivery.
  • Serve as the department Subject Matter Expert (SME) during customer and regulatory audits.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, productivity, and compliance through optimized systems, training programs, and record-keeping practices.
  • Act as a highly visible, hands‑on leader, responsible for coaching, mentoring, and developing high‑performing teams while fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
  • Oversee the professional development of the Visual Inspection team, conducting individual performance reviews, setting goals, and driving employee growth.
Qualifications
  • BS degree highly recommended, in addition to 8+ years related experience along with 2+ years direct supervision of VI program.
  • Positive attitude with strong interpersonal skills
  • Proven leadership, persuasiveness, initiative, and problem solving skills
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Able to inspire and motivate
  • Self‑motivated with a drive for excellence
  • Resilient through operational and organizational change
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple resources in a production environment with flexibility to meet organizational needs
