SummaryThe full‑time Nurse Practitioner is responsible for delivering the highest level of patient care at a premier fertility center. The APP assesses, diagnoses and treats patients, administers and orders appropriate tests, interprets laboratory tests, provides education and appropriate management for women and men in need of reproductive related services. The APP collaborates with physicians and other clinicians in a team‑based approach to patient care.
EssentialFunctions and Accountabilities
- Obtains detailed medical histories, reviews medical records, and performs appropriate physical exams.
- Performs detailed infertility evaluations, including but not limited to gynecologic exams, procedures, ultrasonography, and mock transfers; orders appropriate tests and interprets laboratory values.
- Collaborates with physician in development and implementation of treatment plan appropriate to individual patient.
- Prescribes appropriate medications and provides appropriate referrals.
- Provides detailed and comprehensive patient counseling and education.
- Acts as liaison between collaborating physician and clinical staff to ensure high‑level medical care and addresses issues for improvement.
- Other duties as assigned by advanced practitioner manager.
- Graduate of accredited school.
- MSN, PA or advanced degree in related field.
- Current NP or PA license for state(s) in which APP provides care to BIVF patients.
Skills and Abilities
- Possesses the ability to make independent decisions.
- Must possess leadership ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with personnel, family members and the general public.
- Must be clinically competent in reproductive endocrinology and infertility.
- Previous experience in women's health or reproductive endocrinology and infertility – preferred.
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays as assigned.
- May require unanticipated need to work beyond scheduled shift due to patient care needs.
