All About On Demand

You can work as much or as little as you like as an On-Demand Team Member (TM) and your schedule may vary depending on shift availability and store needs. This role is ideal for those looking for a personalized work schedule. As an On-Demand TM, you will not be included on the posted weekly schedule, but you will have the opportunity to create your own schedule by picking up shifts posted by leaders or other team members via the myTime mobile scheduling app.

When you choose to pick up a shift, reliable and prompt attendance is necessary. Active engagement by picking up and working shifts once every 4 weeks (minimum of four hours) is expected. Flexibility can be granted in certain circumstances, but you need to respond to our attempts to contact you to confirm your interest in working shifts  you do not respond, employment may be terminated.

If you do not work at least one shift within 5 months, employment may be administratively terminated. Communication and ability to work when business demands it are critical to success in this role. If offered a position as an On-Demand TM, you will be required to attend a Target Welcome orientation and commit to a short-term structured training schedule; after that, the myTime app is used to pick up shifts.

Advocates of both in-store and digital services and solutions who are knowledgeable about capabilities and features that drive adoption, usage and loyalty. Empowered to make shopping quick and easy for guests at the checklanes, guest services, gift registry, pick-up and drive up while ensuring exceptional quality.

  • Communicating and interacting with guests to build an inclusive guest experience

  • Promoting and engaging around various benefits, offerings and services

As a Guest Advocate, no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will likely include the following responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standard.
  • Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you complete daily tasks.
  • Engage with guests to help solve their specific needs; be knowledgeable about tools, products, and services available in the total store, and specific to your area.
  • Be familiar with Target Loyalty programs and assist with enrollment; know how to direct guests to enrollment and use of fulfillment services, Wallet, and Target App features.
  • Handle returns per policy, escalate to leaders as needed, and follow store procedures.
  • Deliver easy and accurate service to Order Pick Up, Drive Up, and Registry guests.
  • Maintain a clean, clutter-free work area and stock supplies during store hours.
  • Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance; work safely and report hazards.
  • Support guest services such as order pick up (OPU), Drive-Up (DU) orders, DU returns, and compliance with applicable laws.
  • Support Cash Office processes as needed.
  • All other duties based on business needs.
