Job Title:
Automation Control Engineer
Join our team as an Automation Control Engineer, where you will provide engineering support and leadership for plant automation, control, and instrumentation systems. You will troubleshoot and improve moderately complex control and instrumentation issues to support safe and reliable operations. Additionally, you will support the design, specification, installation, startup, and validation of capital and upgrade projects, ensuring compliance with site standards, cGMP requirements, and good engineering practices.
Responsibilities- Lead mid-level engineering projects, managing scope, schedule, budget, and stakeholder engagement.
- Develop and implement control strategies in collaboration with Operations and Engineering teams.
- Maintain system documentation, as-built drawings, and control system records to ensure a strong state of control.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and automation performance.
- Research, evaluate, and select automation technologies and equipment to support business objectives.
- Develop calibration, preventive maintenance, and operational procedures for control systems and instrumentation.
- 3+ years of experience with process control systems including instrumentation, automated control, and electrical distribution.
- Experience in programming/troubleshooting Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
- Experience in programming and configuration of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with chemical, food, or pharmaceutical industries.
- Experience with Allen-Bradley, Modicon, and Siemens S7 PLCs.
- Experience with Wonderware products.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Experience with network and system administration of Microsoft based systems, Visual Basic, and SQL.
This position is based in a very large GMP regulated manufacturing facility currently undergoing expansion. The facility is in the process of adding new manufacturing lines, including new filling and compounding suites. The environment is dynamic, with ongoing construction and demolition as part of a 3 to 5-year plan to complete the campus and fully operationalize it. The facility aims to produce a variety of generic medicines, including Vitamin B, hard narcotics, antibiotics, and hormones.

Contract to Hire position based out of Bedford, OH.
Pay & BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $38.00 - $43.00/hr.
