Maintenance Technician; 2nd Shift

The Maintenance Technician supports continuous improvement initiatives and strives to improve safety, quality, and efficiency. Responsibilities include maintaining, repairing, and improving machinery, equipment, and warehouse facilities in a safe and timely manner; performing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repair of production machines; providing emergency/unscheduled repairs; conducting regular preventive maintenance; participating in scheduled training; supporting independent objective auditing and continuous improvement activities;

performing daily, weekly, and other routine maintenance and housekeeping; and using related production documents and basic math skills. May work at different workstations as production needs require.

• Previous experience in an industrial maintenance position, steel service‑center experience accepted.
• Significant experience with mechanical, pneumatic, automation, and hydraulics concepts.
• Experience with programmable logic controls (PLCs) in a manufacturing environment required.
• Ability to read manufacturing equipment drawings and electrical and plumbing schematics.
• Ability to inspect material for quality using measuring devices and drawings.
• Strong knowledge and ability to use hand tools and welding tools, as well as troubleshoot electrical systems.
• Flexibility of work schedule.
• Working knowledge of general computer programs.
