Specific job tasks required by the Leveler Operator:
- Setup involves working in conjunction with an assigned production employee helper to complete a sequence of setups by following established procedures.
- Confirm hardness, gauge width, and finished material conformity to job requirements and customer specifications.
- Operate console to mechanically load coil stock to pay-off mechanism, set for proper width, feed through leveler rolls, and adjust micro setting through console controls to secure flat sheet stock.
- Thread through automatic length and sheet count, set feeds and speed for optimum quantity and quality requirements.
- Stack required sheets according to order.
- Oversee packaging of material to ensure customer specifications are met.
- Verify final product for hardness; gauge width and length to insure conformity to order.
- Weigh and prepare shipping and stock tags and attaches to order.
- Remove unused coils from payoff for return to inventory.
- Occasionally operate units manually.
- Detect faulty operation, defective material, and refer these and other situations to supervisor.
- Record production data and time information.
- 1st Shift- 6:00am-4:30pm
- Some nights and weekends to meet business needs
- Mechanically inclined, production oriented, and safety and quality conscious.
- General knowledge of crane operation and ancillary lifting devices.
- Basic math skills required.
- Working knowledge of general computer programs required.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
