Carpentry - Window Technician

Universal Windows Direct - Carpentry - Window Field Technician

Full Time $25/HR!

• At least 1 year of window installation or repair experience

The Field Technician will measure, install and test products and provide customers with instructions on the proper usage of the product. The Field Technician will have to travel to our customers' homes or businesses to perform repairs and routine maintenance. The Field Technician should have excellent technical and mechanical skills, experience with basic hand power, diagnostic tools, and be physically fit to lift heavy equipment.

• Conduct routine inspection and provide accurate measurements of doors and windows
• Provide timely and quality repairs of customers' products including screen installation, sash replacement, glass replacement, hardware replacement, and seal repairs
• Coordinate required return visits; convey needed services, materials, and labor
• Perform post-installation inspections
• Anticipate obstacles that could impact customer expectations, job costs and/or code performance; recommend solutions
• Promote the company's services
• Maintain technical and mechanical skills
• Use an associate degree or technical certification in the industry
• Have previous experience servicing windows and doors
• Have previous experience in exterior replacement products
• Hold a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

• Ability to work independently and as a team
• Manage overtime on service calls with patience and not rushing the job
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to diagnose and solve problems based on customers' non-technical descriptions
• Strong working knowledge of equipment and tools used in the industry
• Physical fitness to lift heavy equipment, work in confined spaces, and bend frequently
  
  Travel within radius of UWD locations
