3rd Shift Maintenance Engineer
This role focuses on maintaining and improving a fast-paced manufacturing facility by troubleshooting, repairing, and overhauling electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, HVAC, plumbing, and crane systems. The Maintenance Engineer supports production reliability through preventative maintenance, equipment installation and relocation, and building and grounds upkeep, while consistently demonstrating integrity, respect, accountability, continuous improvement, and positive interactions with team members and visitors.

- Evaluate and identify potential problems in electrical and mechanical machinery and equipment, and perform timely repairs and ongoing maintenance.
- Evaluate, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain pneumatic, hydraulic, HVAC, and plumbing systems inside and outside the plant.
- Install new equipment and relocate existing equipment as needed to support production and facility projects.
- Perform repairs and maintenance to buildings and grounds as directed, ensuring a safe and well-maintained facility.
- Clean, inspect, and repair boilers to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Identify potential issues in crane systems, and perform repairs, overhauls, and ongoing maintenance to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Complete preventative maintenance tasks as assigned, and accurately document work performed according to established procedures.
- Perform TIG welding on mild steel and stainless steel components as required for repairs and projects.
- Participate in and support project improvement initiatives, contributing technical expertise and practical solutions.
- Assist with and actively participate in team meetings, providing input and collaborating to resolve issues and improve processes.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance in accordance with company attendance policies and procedures.
- Operate industrial trucks and lifts safely once certified, and handle materials and equipment according to company and OSHA standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation to diagnose issues and complete repairs correctly.
- Troubleshoot and support PLC-controlled systems as part of equipment maintenance and repair activities.
- Use appropriate tools, measuring devices, and test equipment accurately to diagnose problems and verify repairs.
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with team members, management, customers, and vendors regarding maintenance needs, status updates, and completed work.
- Work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision, prioritizing tasks and managing time to accomplish assigned work.
- Follow all safety, GMP, and company policies, including the use of required personal protective equipment and safe work practices.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management to support overall plant operations and continuous improvement.
- Proven mechanical aptitude with strong and accurate troubleshooting ability, preferably gained in a food manufacturing or similar production environment.
- Hands-on experience maintaining and repairing electrical and mechanical machinery and equipment in an industrial setting.
- Practical knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems, including troubleshooting, repair, and routine maintenance.
- Ability to work with HVAC and plumbing systems in and around a manufacturing facility.
- Experience performing preventative maintenance, including inspection, lubrication, adjustments, and documentation of work performed.
- Capability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to support troubleshooting and repairs.
- Demonstrated skill in PLC troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve control system issues.
- Proficiency in TIG welding with mild steel and stainless steel for equipment repair and fabrication.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing equipment operation and the ability to properly use and operate precision and diagnostic tools.
- Strong math skills to support measurements, calculations, and technical problem solving.
- Ability to obtain and maintain industrial truck and lift operating certification and operate such equipment safely in compliance with company and OSHA standards.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with team members, management, customers, and vendors.
- Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions while working safely, effectively, and productively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team with minimal supervision.
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working in a food manufacturing environment or similar regulated production setting.
- Industrial Maintenance Degree or related technical degree is preferred.
