Description

We are seeking a talented and motivated Coordinator, Import/Export Transportation to join our team. In this role, you will serve as the point of contact between external customers, suppliers, and transportation companies to ensure an efficient operational service and scheduling is provided. You will coordinate all tasks associated with processing import/export shipments to and from international customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain regular and predictable onsite attendance and punctuality.
  • Process domestic, international and hazardous shipments in accordance with standard operating procedures and International Air Transport Association (IATA), Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) and Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). the import/export process from start to finish with the freight transportation service and CHB.
  • Complete documentation for international shipments of goods and hazardous material; ensure trucks are loaded with correct goods, select a carrier to provide best cost‑effective transportation service, and monitor arrival/departure of shipments to enable on‑time delivery.
  • Prepare and determine HTS/Schedule B classification for all import/export items and ensure proper classification guidelines are met.
  • Verify import/export documentation and ensure that all proper documentation is accurate, complete, sent to broker and is on file.
  • Provide transportation companies with the relevant information to ensure customer delivery requirements are met.
  • Facilitate domestic scheduling of inbound LTL, FTL, LCL & FCL freight; monitor truck arrivals to shipping dock.
  • Assign and handle inbound/outbound appointment shipment schedules from vendors to all sites.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • 1‑2 years’ experience in Transportation, Customs, Supply Chain Logistics or a similar discipline (preferred).
  • One to two years’ experience in processing transactions in SAP or a similar ERP system.
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain the following certifications:
    • RCRA – Hazardous Waste Generator Requirement Training
    • IATA – International Air Transport Authority Shipping Training
    • DOT – Shipping of Hazardous Materials
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision in a fast‑paced, ever‑changing environment and continuously reprioritize requirements to accomplish tasks optimally.
  • Capable of understanding and following written and verbal instructions and/or procedures and understanding how they affect others in a team environment.
