SUMMARY
This position will primarily assist the Utilities and Environmental functions of the Public Works Department by inspecting water meters, geolocating water meter locations, and confirming service line material. Additionally, the position will be rotated through the Public Works divisions of Water and Wastewater maintenance, Environmental, Engineering, Streets, Stormwater, and Traffic to gain experience and understanding of their functions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.

High school diploma/GED. Some related experience and/or training preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS- Valid Texas Driver’s License.
- Ability to obtain a Texas B Commercial Driver's License within one (1) year of hire.
- Ability to obtain a Work Zone Traffic Control certification within one (1) year of hire.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of:
- A basic knowledge of computer systems and ESRI GIS applications.
- A basic knowledge of hand tools and small machinery.
- Knowledge of computer hardware, including desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.
- Exceptional customer service orientation.
- Strong documentation skills.
- Highly self-motivated and directed.
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Absorb and retain information quickly.
- Present ideas in user-friendly language.
- Keen attention to detail. Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
