The Vice President of Finance & Accounting provides strategic leadership and oversight of
the Company's financial operations, accounting functions, budgeting, reporting, treasury
management, tax compliance, and internal controls. This role ensures the financial
integrity of the organization while supporting executive leadership with accurate financial
analysis and recommendations. The VP partners closely with Operations, Asset Management, Human Resources, and Ownership to support business growth, maximize company and portfolio performance, maintain regulatory compliance, and improve operational efficiency acrossthe portfolio.
- Develop and execute the Company's financial strategy.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership.
- Provide financial guidance regarding acquisitions, dispositions, refinancing,development, and capital investments.
- Participate in executive planning, budgeting, and long-term business initiatives.
- Present financial results to ownership, clients, executive leadership, and investors.
- Oversee preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure timely and accurate property financial reporting.
- Review portfolio financial performance and identify operational trends.
- Prepare executive dashboards and KPI reporting.
- Monitor cash flow and company liquidity.
- Direct oversight of both company and portfolio cash positions and financials
- Lead annual budgeting process.
- Monitor budget performance.
- Analyze variances.
- Recommend corrective actions.
- Support operational leaders with financial planning.
- Oversee company banking relationships.
- Manage operating cash. Ensuring funding is accurate and timely for company activities (payroll, capital expenditures, mortgage, other liabilities, etc)
- Monitor reserve balances.
- Approve transfers and wire activity.
- Forecast cash needs.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
- Preferred CPA, MBA, or CMA
- 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience
- 5+ years in senior financial leadership
- Property management or real estate accounting experience required
- Affordable housing accounting experience strongly preferred
- Experience leading small to medium sized accounting teams
- Experience with multi-entity accounting
- Experience managing audits and lender reporting
