Software Engineer - State National

• Handle all aspects of client file management, including daily processing of file submissions sent to State National.
• Program inbound client files in an HP‑UX Informix/Cobol environment, analyzing and diagnosing issues with daily file submissions.
• Process data file conversions using third‑party ETL software and ensure accurate transformation.
• Coordinate projects, set priorities, and report status for concurrent projects in both production and test environments.
• Communicate with clients regarding questions, clarifications, issues, and resolutions.
• Set up new clients in test and live systems.
• Handle insurance conversion files for new accounts and complete application system changes for new and existing clients in third‑party data conversion software.

• College degree preferred; high school diploma required.
• At least 4 years of experience in QA and/or programming.
• Proficiency in Cobol, Informix ISQL/4GL, or ETL tools.
• Experience with operating systems and scripting: vi, HP‑UX/UNIX, Shell scripting, Linux, .NET.
• Knowledge of SQL and database/file structures.
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Detail oriented.
