PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITY
Reporting to the Manager and Assistant Manager of Production/Labeling, the Production Technician is responsible for the separation of whole blood into blood and blood components (including the proper operation of equipment and the labeling of blood components) for long-term storage or shipment. Functions must be completed in a manner consistent with all applicable standards, procedures, regulations, departmental goals and objectives, and must be in compliance with standards set forth by, but not limited to the following regulatory bodies: FDA, AABB, EU, and OSHA.
Regular full-time attendance is required during normal working hours.
EDUCATION
- High School Graduate, or GED
- Production or manufacturing experience, preferred
- Must complete training for essential functions within 90 days, as appropriate for the shift assigned. Organized and able to document details accurately and completely, both electronically and manually
- Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team, with or without direct supervision
- Ability to work with strict time expectations, restraints and deadlines
- Uses equipment effectively, skillfully and efficiently
- Good verbal and written English communication skills
- Ability to remain focused on repetitive tasks
