Work hours: Full-Time (40 hours) Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required
• Master’s Degree in Nursing preferred
• 3 years of experience in Med Surg, Emergency or Critical Care required
• 3 years of experience in Critical Care experience preferred
• RN – Registered Nurse upon hire required
• BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
• NIHSS – National Institute of Health Stroke Scale Certification 60 Days required
• SCRN – Stroke Certified Registered Nurse upon hire preferred

• Facilitate the linkage between strategic business lines and provision of an effective and efficient Stroke Program.
• Maintain current knowledge of clinical practice in care of stroke patients.
• Review implementation of stroke order protocols and follow up as needed to ensure compliance.
• Utilize current research and evidence-based standards of practice to develop, analyze and coordinate a comprehensive plan of patient education activities, including goals assessment, planning, implementation, needed resources and evaluation methods to support improved patient outcomes.
• Collect date and assist in the implementation of practice changes as needed, participates in the analysis of data.
• Coordinate and facilitate provision of educational opportunities for staff, physicians, patients, external providers of care including EMS, and the community.
