Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (Night Shift)

The RN coordinates and delivers high quality, patient‑centered care in the Emergency Room during night shifts. The role involves collaborating with the care team, advocating for patients and families, and contributing to patient outcomes and the future of nursing. The RN adheres to nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage,” and supports the organization’s vision, mission, and values.

• Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention.
• Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Responds promptly to patient requests, anticipating patient needs and resolving them proactively.
• Teaches patients, families, and caregivers about patient medical condition, status, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow‑up measures, translating complex medical terminology into clear language.
• Provides education on non‑medicinal follow‑up measures such as healthy diet, exercise, disease prevention, and lifestyle changes, preparing patients and families for future self‑management.

• PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support (must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date)
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date)
