Supervises house float pool and full‑time float staff. Serves as Administrator‑In‑House after hours, weekends and holidays. Assists in the provision of supplemental nursing staff to in‑patient and other areas. Works with departments within the hospital to ensure appropriate and timely patient placement. Assists staff in obtaining needed supplies and equipment. Utilizes chain of command to address departmental or facility issues. Responds to emergencies on the campus.
Implements emergency plans for the facility. Interacts with patients, families, staff and physicians to ensure prompt resolution of concerns. Supports hospital mission, vision and goals. Places personal emphasis on customer service.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
- Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) and have a license in the State of Texas – compact is accepted
- Must have a minimum of a bachelor's degree in nursing
- Must be a graduate of a professional school of nursing
- Must have a minimum of two years' management/supervisory experience
- Must have experience in specialty areas (ICU)
- Must have a minimum of 3 years ICU experience for this position
