Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), Emergency Department

Work location:

Texas Health HEB, 1600 Hospital Parkway, Bedford, TX 76022.

Work hours:

PRN (as needed), Evening Shift (3pm to 3am). Rotating holiday and weekend requirements. Great growth opportunity.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with team to facilitate hourly rounding and initiate action to meet patient needs.
  • Takes action to reduce/eliminate patient risks.
  • Collects data and reports significant findings to RN.
  • Safely administers medication following guidelines.
  • Uses nursing model to obtain data and implement plan of care to meet patient, physician, and family needs.
  • Individualizes care measures for specific patient population.
  • Performs technical procedures safely and proficiently.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking.
  • Adheres to national safety goals in care delivery.
  • Monitors patients.
  • Works in partnership with peers, other disciplines, and unlicensed assistive personnel.
  • Actively participates in teaching and evaluation to strengthen clinical competence.
  • Uses unit‑based council structure.
  • Flexible with scheduling to meet departmental and patient needs.
  • Adapts to changes in workload to meet changing needs of patients or units.

Qualifications
  • LVN licensure required in Texas.
  • BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) required.
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) training within 90 days of hire required.
  • Minimum six months experience in an acute‑care hospital setting or completion of a 6‑MW THR residency program.
