Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), Emergency Department
Work location:
Texas Health HEB, 1600 Hospital Parkway, Bedford, TX 76022.
Work hours:
PRN (as needed), Evening Shift (3pm to 3am). Rotating holiday and weekend requirements. Great growth opportunity.
- Professional LVN demonstrates understanding of basic human needs and patient affiliation.
- Fast‑paced teaching environment with growth opportunities.
- Collaborate with team to facilitate hourly rounding and initiate action to meet patient needs.
- Takes action to reduce/eliminate patient risks.
- Collects data and reports significant findings to RN.
- Safely administers medication following guidelines.
- Uses nursing model to obtain data and implement plan of care to meet patient, physician, and family needs.
- Individualizes care measures for specific patient population.
- Performs technical procedures safely and proficiently.
- Demonstrates critical thinking.
- Adheres to national safety goals in care delivery.
- Monitors patients.
- Works in partnership with peers, other disciplines, and unlicensed assistive personnel.
- Actively participates in teaching and evaluation to strengthen clinical competence.
- Uses unit‑based council structure.
- Flexible with scheduling to meet departmental and patient needs.
- Adapts to changes in workload to meet changing needs of patients or units.
- Delivery of high quality patient care through education, nursing research, and innovation.
- Strong unit‑based council (UBC).
- A supportive, team environment with outstanding growth opportunities.
- LVN licensure required in Texas.
- BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) required.
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) training within 90 days of hire required.
- Minimum six months experience in an acute‑care hospital setting or completion of a 6‑MW THR residency program.
