Role Overview:
The Home Therapy Registered Nurse trains and supports patients on home dialysis modalities, ensuring high-quality care and patient safety.
Responsibilities:Conducting home visits to evaluate patient environments, providing training in self-care dialysis techniques, documenting all nursing activities, monitoring infection control, managing emergency procedures, and coordinating supplies. The nurse collaborates with physicians to communicate patient status, administers medications, and participates in quality improvement activities. The role involves performing on-call nursing services, maintaining compliance with regulations, and ensuring water sampling and home evaluations for home hemodialysis patients.
Qualifications:Active RN license, minimum 12 months of clinical nursing experience with at least 3 months in a dialysis modality (or 6 months in certain states), CPR certification, and computer proficiency. Prior dialysis care experience and ability to meet state practice requirements are preferred.
