Job summary:This person serves as a leader and provides guidance for all warehouse labor duties. Responsible for directing daily activities of the warehouse including labor, scheduling, and supervision of day-to-day operations. Oversees and provides training to warehouse associates following Metropolitan’s set standards and quality guidelines for loading, unloading, packaging and scan discipline. Oversees inventory levels, monitors the safety of goods, and ensures the efficient usage of warehouse space.
Assigns tasks and aids Warehouse Manager with all shipping and receiving responsibilities. Assists and provides guidance for different warehouse duties as needed.
- Strategically plan and manage logistics, warehouse, transportation, and customer services for the Central Region.
- Administrative Back Up for Hub Manager
- Print Pick sheets for warehouse to stage loads
- Copy and send requested P.O.D.'s.
- Filing and answering phones/emails
- Assisting drivers with questions and problems
- Trouble shooting for employees outside our area.
- Managing claims process
- Prepare returns manifests and enter manifests into system (Ascend)
- Responsible for Hold and Return product.
- Administer other office tasks as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2-3 years of supervisory or warehouse lead experience desired
- Ability to understand inventory processes.
- Proven leadership and organizational skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to motivate others and work with a variety of people.
- Ability to lead large groups of individuals in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
- Warehouse Management System (WMS) experience.
