Senior Analytical Chemist - GC-MS

An industry-leading international laboratory in Bedford is seeking an experienced Senior Analytical Chemist to join their expanding environmental testing team.

In this role, you will work with a high degree of autonomy, performing complex GC‑MS analyses of small‑molecule compounds in challenging environmental matrices. You will play a key role in method development and validation, troubleshooting instrumentation, and ensuring the delivery of high‑quality analytical data.

As a senior member of the team, you will also provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior analysts, contributing to a collaborative and high‑performing laboratory environment.

• Strong hands‑on experience with GC‑MS instrumentation
• Proven method development and validation experience
• Experience analysing trace‑level contaminants is desirable
• Background in environmental analysis is desirable
• Demonstrated experience mentoring or supervising junior staff
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
