Electrician – Level 3

Location: HMP Bedford – St Loyes Street, Bedford MK40

Salary: £39,579.20 plus a 5% shift allowance for weekend working and £1,000 in RRA per annum

Contract: Full time / Permanent

We are seeking a dedicated fully qualified Electrician to join our team at HMP Bedford, a Category B & adult/male prison. We work Monday-Sunday as a supportive and driven family, working together to create a safe and nurturing environment. As part of the Facilities Maintenance Team we are committed to the smooth and safe operation of the prison.

As an Electrician, you will work alongside experienced and passionate colleagues from various trades and will help maintain a safe and secure environment for all.

• Certificate in BS7671:2018 (18th edition)
• Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation or Electrotechnical Services (City & Guilds/EAL), including relevant NVQs and competency assessment (AM2/AM2S) – e.g., 2367 or 2357.
• Two years’ experience working as a fully qualified electrician
• Experience working on commercial or industrial electrical systems
• Good working knowledge of planned and preventive maintenance operations
• Good Health & Safety knowledge
• Excellent organisational, time management and people skills
