The Role As an Engineering Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair and inspection of automated machinery and site facilities, ensuring equipment remains safe, reliable and operational. You'll work closely with operational teams, management and contractors to minimise downtime and maintain a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on automated machinery. Complete routine inspections and maintenance reports. Diagnose faults and carry out repairs efficiently to minimise operational disruption. Maintain engineering stock levels and spare parts inventory. Perform general building and site maintenance, including lighting, fixtures and minor repairs. Support the planning and scheduling of preventative maintenance activities. Produce shift reports detailing maintenance activity and equipment issues.
Work collaboratively with operational teams across day and night shifts. Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, cost savings and health & safety. Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company procedures and health & safety legislation. About You We're looking for someone who is:
Experienced in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance. Comfortable working on automated machinery within a fast-paced operational environment. A strong problem solver with excellent fault-finding skills. Organised and able to prioritise workloads effectively. A confident communicator who works well within a team. Proactive with a continuous improvement mindset. Committed to maintaining high standards of safety and compliance.
Desirable Experience Previous experience within logistics, warehousing, manufacturing or distribution.
Experience with preventative maintenance programmes. Knowledge of health & safety regulations and safe systems of work. Manual handling certification or willingness to undertake training.
