Clinical Pathology Laboratories, Inc. (CPL) seeks a Healthcare Compliance Specialist for our Legal & Regulatory Compliance department. This role supports development, implementation, and monitoring of policies to ensure adherence to federal and state healthcare regulations, HIPAA, and laboratory testing standards. Responsibilities
  • Monitor compliance with federal, state, and local healthcare regulations impacting laboratory services
  • Conduct internal compliance audits and risk assessments across clinical and anatomic pathology operations
  • Assist in developing, updating, and implementing compliance policies and procedures
  • Support and help deliver compliance training and education to staff and leadership
  • Investigate potential compliance issues and assist with corrective action plans
  • Prepare reports, metrics, and documentation for leadership and regulatory bodies
  • Collaborate with Legal & Regulatory Compliance and operational leaders to address regulatory changes
  • Maintain documentation required for accreditation and inspections (e.g., CLIA, CAP, state agencies)
  • Assist with responses to regulatory inquiries, audits, and external inspections
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen the compliance program
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulatory requirements (e.g., CLIA, HIPAA, CMS, OIG guidance)
  • Healthcare compliance auditing and monitoring
  • Risk assessment and mitigation in clinical or laboratory settings
  • Policy and procedure development and documentation
  • Investigative and root cause analysis techniques
  • Regulatory reporting and documentation preparation
  • Data analysis and compliance metrics tracking
  • Written and verbal communication tailored to clinical and legal audiences
  • Training and presentation skills for compliance topics
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar productivity tools
  • Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) – preferred
  • Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC) – a plus
  • Compliance or regulatory certification (e.g., RCC, CPC) – a plus
