Overview

The RN coordinates and delivers high quality, patient‑centered care in accordance with department requirements and the scope of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medical providers and the care team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive care using established nursing models.

The RN serves as an advocate for patients/families/caregivers and models the organization’s vision, mission and values to support an exceptional patient experience and clinical outcomes.

• Assess patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention.
• Perform procedures, monitoring or other functions as ordered by the medical provider and document care in the patient chart in a timely and thorough manner.
• Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests and anticipating needs.
• Educate patients, families and caregivers about the medical condition, status, treatment plan, medications, side effects, and follow‑up measures; translate complex medical terminology as needed.
• Educate on non‑medicinal follow‑up measures, such as healthy diet and exercise, disease prevention, and lifestyle changes; prepare patients and families for future self‑management.

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• NIH Stroke Scale must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date
• RN — Registered Nurse
• Associate Degree
• Basic Life Support (BLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) or TNCC Instructor must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
• No travel required
• 1 year of experience required
