Part-Time Administrative Specialist - Distance Education
This position serves as the first point of contact for Distance Education and Advanced Studies program and is responsible for providing information and resources to faculty and students regarding LMS troubleshooting issues, program assistance, assisting faculty and students, and providing administrative support as needed.
Essential duties and responsibilities include greeting and directing visitors, faculty, and students, unlocking and locking doors in the University Center, assisting with issues by directing to appropriate personnel, assisting with Canvas course builds and closed captioning, assisting with proctoring system setup and proctoring, completing inventory, pulling reporting in Canvas, updating Canvas courses, assisting in course review coordination, and training coordination. Additionally, the position involves submitting Physical Plant tickets for building issues and starting and ending web conferencing classes as needed.
Required qualifications include knowledge of a specialized field, equivalent of four years in high school, plus night, trade extension, or correspondence school specialized training, equal to two years of college, and two years of related experience and/or training.

The minimum salary is $11.00 per hour.
Physical activities include standing, walking, sitting, using hands to finger, handle, or feel, reaching with hands and arms, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, talking or hearing, and exerting up to 100 pounds occasionally.
This position requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
This position will be subject to a pre-employment criminal, sex-offender registry background check. In cases where pre-determined, an additional financial/credit history/background check may be required as well. Convictions that have been sealed or legally eradicated and misdemeanor convictions for which probation was completed and the case was dismissed, will be excluded. Disclosure does not constitute an automatic bar to employment.
