Job DescriptionThe Art department is seeking (1) Federal Work Study student at 20 hours per week for the Fall 2026 & Spring 2027 terms.
Duties include:
assist in the upkeep of all the studios and gallery.
- Assist in mixing both clay and glazes
- Assist in helping students with studio chores
- Assist in maintaining equipment (kilns, pug mill, & tools)
- Assist in firing processes (loading, unloading, prepping materials such as kiln wash, wadding, and wood for pit firing)
- Help with prepping the studio for the beginning and the end of each semester
- Assist instructors with prep and maintenance tasks in the studio classrooms. This will include but is not limited to: maintaining and securing visual props, cutting paper, organizing tools, help with studio prep for the beginning and ending of each semester.
- Keeping the lab and accessories in order.
- Help with studio prep throughout the semester.
- Help instructors with maintenance tasks in the studio. This includes organizing found objects and other sculpture materials associated with the class.
- Help with prepping materials for class.
- Assist with the installation and take down of exhibits
- Assist in gallery maintenance
- Assist in gallery monitoring
- Assist instructors with documentation and cataloguing of visual references and records

Required QualificationsCompletion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is required. Interest in working within the art department. Candidate must be capable of lifting 50 lbs. at a time. Candidate must be willing to get dirty.
Minimum Salary or Salary Range$11.00 per hour
