Institutional Work Study Student - Assistant for Faculty

The Math department is seeking (1) Federal Work Study student at 10 hours per week for the Fall 2026 & Spring 2027 terms.

Duties include:

• Assist faculty members with tasks such as preparing class materials, grading papers, making copies, running errands, restocking the copy paper, cleaning tables, assisting with course accessibility tasks such as adding alt text and formatting materials.
• Other duties as assigned.

Must be dependable and responsible. Must be available several days per week. Must be comfortable using technology (basic computer usage). Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to follow instructions and work independently. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism. Integrity is a must. Enough math understanding to effectively grade math assignments.

$11.00 per hour

This position will be subject to a pre-employment criminal, sex-offender registry background check. In cases where pre-determined, an additional financial/credit history/ background check may be required as well. Convictions that have been sealed or legally eradicated and misdemeanor convictions for which probation was completed and the case was dismissed, will be excluded. Disclosure does not constitute an automatic bar to employment.

Factors such as dates of the offense, seriousness and nature of the violation, rehabilitation and position applied for will be taken into account.
