Institutional Work Study
- Peer Science Tutor
SSS/Trio is seeking (1) Institutional Work Study student at 20 hours per week for the Fall 2026 & Spring 2027 terms.
Duties include:
Provide individualized academic support to SSS students in a classroom setting. Works one-on-one with students to reinforce key concepts in biology and related science subjects, while also offering assistance in core math areas as needed. Responsibilities include explaining complex material in an accessible manner, guiding students through problem solving processes, assisting with exam preparation, and promoting effective study strategies, foster independent learning, build student confidence, and maintain a supportive and professional learning environment.
Salary: $11.00 per hour
Required Qualifications:
Must have completed the required subjects with a grade of "B" or better. Ability to tutor across multiple subject areas, including biology, science, and core math. Ability to adapt tutoring methods to different learning styles.

Background Check Statement:
This position will be subject to a pre-employment criminal, sex-offender registry background check.
