Auction Lot Manager

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced, organized, and hands‑on Lot Manager to oversee the daily operations of our commercial vehicle auction facility. This leadership role is responsible for managing lot operations, coordinating vehicle flow, supervising staff, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring efficient auction processes for customers, consignors, and buyers. The ideal candidate is a proven operations leader with experience managing teams, coordinating logistics, and maintaining inventory accuracy in a fast‑paced automotive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all day-to-day operations of the auction lot, including cars, trucks, trailers, heavy equipment, buses, and other large vehicles.
  • Coordinate vehicle intake, staging, inventory management, and post‑sale vehicle release.
  • Supervise and schedule personnel.
  • Ensure vehicles are accurately identified, parked, photographed, and prepared for auction.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and safe environment while enforcing company safety policies.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the lot and vehicles to ensure operational readiness.
  • Monitor inventory accuracy using auction management software and handheld technology.
  • Collaborate with sales, transportation and auction teams to ensure successful auction events.
  • Resolve customer concerns professionally and promptly.
  • Track productivity, labor costs, and operational performance.
  • Assist with special projects and continuous process improvements.
Qualifications
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate teams in a fast‑paced operational environment.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Experience operating or supervising the movement of large commercial vehicles.
  • Proficient with computers and cell phone applications for tracking inventory.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
Preferred Experience
  • 2‑3+ years of management experience in vehicle auctions, fleet management, transportation, automotive, or a related industry.
