Institutional Work Study - Weekend Student Worker

The Veterinary Technology department is seeking (1) Institutional Work Study student at 5 hours per week for the Fall 2026/Spring 2027 terms

Duties include:

• General animal care – feeding, watering, and medicating (if needed)
• Clean animal housing
• Wellness checks and exams on program animals
• Assist with weekend recruitment & tours

Basic knowledge of animal husbandry and care of program animals; good work ethic and attitude; trustworthy and responsible.

$11.00 per hour

This position will be subject to a pre-employment criminal, sex-offender registry background check. In cases where pre-determined, an additional financial/credit history/ background check may be required as well. Convictions that have been sealed or legally eradicated and misdemeanor convictions for which probation was completed and the case was dismissed, will be excluded. Disclosure does not constitute an automatic bar to employment.

Factors such as dates of the offense, seriousness and nature of the violation, rehabilitation and position applied for will be taken into account.
