Salary range: $46,026 - $64,426
Location: City of Beeville City Hall
Hours: Full Time / Non-Exempt
Start date: Pending the results of a post interview drug screening.

Reports To: City Manager
Directs the downtown revitalization projects. Coordinates downtown organizations in the promotion, planning, economic/historical development, and community activities. Markets downtown properties to interested parties. Works with downtown property owners in the improvements of their properties. Supervises other staff in beautification, landscaping and improvements in downtown area. Supervises 1 employee.
Essential Functions- Works with community organizations and property owners related to downtown improvements, activities, and events
- Assists property owners and tenants with building improvement projects
- Coordinates downtown revitalization activities and historical preservation planning
- Coordinates business development and business recruitment for the City
- Assists in economic development in downtown area
- Coordinates community promotions including tourism, economic development and City services
- Coordinates promotional activities for downtown, including sales promotions, special events such as parades or Christmas lighting, printed materials and on-going public relations
- Represents the City in statewide Main Street program activities
- Works with public and private sector organizations in beautification, landscaping and public improvement projects
- Develops funding support, prepares grant applications, and administers grants
- Coordinates tax abatement activities
- Coordinates use of Beeville Community Center
- Works with BEIC in façade improvement grant projects and follows through with funding reimbursement requests
- Observes all safety rules and procedures
- Performs other duties as may be required
- Regular and consistent attendance in a workplace environment
Knowledge and
Skills Required:
- Knowledge of public relations, communication methods, and fund-raising activities
- Ability to speak publicly and to make presentations
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Ability to develop and maintain working relationships with other employees, other city departments, community organizations, and the general public
- Ability to operate a personal computer using standard word processing and spreadsheet software packages
- Ability to perform all administrative functions associated with scheduling, planning, and executing events
- General knowledge of applicable laws, ordinances, regulations, and functions of involved city departments
- Valid TX Driver's License
- Bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, marketing, public relations/communications, or related field with professional experience in marketing, economic development, Main Street Program, historical planning, and/or public relations, or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background investigation
- Ability to operate standard office equipment including copier and fax
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Basic computer knowledge
- Standing/Walking: Frequently in an office setting - tile and carpet
- Sitting: Frequently in an office chair
- Lifting/Carrying: Occasionally file folders, boxes, ledgers, etc. (max 25 lbs.)
- Reaching: Occasionally to reach materials in filing cabinets and on shelves
- Handling/Fine Dexterity: Frequently to operate computer and write documents
- Bending: Occasionally to obtain materials from lower drawers in filing cabinet
- Vision: Constantly to operate computer, read, inspect, and to operate a vehicle
- Hearing/Talking: Constantly to communicate with others
- Endurance/Stamina: Frequently working 8 to 12 hours a day in a high demand environment meeting strict deadlines, which may create stress at times
