Clinical-Laboratory Hourly Dental Hygienist
The clinical-laboratory hourly dental hygienist has an integral role in the success of Dental Hygiene Students. This person is involved in the formation and implementation of clinical and laboratory skills that graduates require as entry-level hygienists. This professional dental hygienist will help create a positive and rewarding clinical/laboratory setting that promotes and fosters knowledge, skills, and ethical values of the profession.
Job Duties and Responsibilities- The clinical-laboratory hourly dental hygienist will work with dental hygiene course instructors to maintain curriculum standards and faculty-student ratios.
- Effectively adhere to and employ teaching and learning strategies in clinical or laboratory dental hygiene sessions.
- Assist in using evaluation methods implemented by the department, which fairly measure student progress.
- Efficiently communicates subject matter content to students during clinical or laboratory sessions.
- Encourage students in the development of communication skills and knowledge of the dental hygiene discipline.
- Foster and maintain effective working relationships with students, colleagues, and supervisors.
- Assist in stocking supplies in clinic and laboratory settings.
- Complete all required training from the department and Coastal Bend College and submit the completion documentation to the Administrative Support Specialist.
- Assist full-time faculty in monitoring, documenting, and maintaining required equipment, logs, and inventories in the clinic.
- Assist full-time faculty in grading assignments as needed.
- Assist full-time faculty in promoting the program and representing Coastal Bend College at community events.
Minimum Qualifications:
A minimum of a bachelor's degree, a current Texas dental hygiene license, current CPR certification, and at least three years of dental hygiene clinical experience are required. Previous clinical or laboratory teaching experience is preferred.

Attend meetings and events as required by college administration.
