Essential Functions

The Pathways Navigator, Dual Credit, is responsible for advising, registration, recruitment, and retention of dual credit students.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develops and maintains positive relationships with stakeholders; internal and external public school administrators, school counselors, and instructors.
  • Facilitates various events such as parent meetings, classroom presentations, and college fairs at middle schools and high schools in the College Service area, which offer top-promoted dual credit programs.
  • Facilitates career exploration and planning activities to guide students in the selection of the dual credit program, pathways, and Coastal Bend College majors.
  • Meets regularly with school district officials to communicate enrollment deadlines and procedures for dual credit programs, and to coordinate enrollment activities for prospective and continuing Dual Credit students.
  • Facilitates admission application and registration events at high school sites to ensure timely enrollment of students in college courses.
  • Assist in the determination of Dual Credit eligibility of high school students and work with school district staff to obtain pending enrollment documentation.
  • Coordinates onboarding events and programs for Dual Credit students at Coastal Bend Colleges, such as Apply Texas Events, Information Sessions, New Student Orientation, and registration.
  • Under the guidance of the Dual Credit Director, develop, plan, and conduct ongoing educational seminars, orientations, and workshops for students and counselors on strategies, policies, and procedures, and any issues pertaining to dual credit students' academic advisement and student retention for degree completion.
  • Manages inquiries and develops targeted enrollment communication to students, counselors, and parents.
  • Assists with the development of marketing material and activities for Dual Credit Programs and orientations.
  • Assistswithstudent'sgraduations& applications.
  • Maintains familiarity with the College's programs, policies, procedures, and academic standards.
  • Attend Departmental Advisory Committee meetings when needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Education or related field from an accredited college or university required.

Preferred Qualifications:

The Pathways Navigator, Dual Credit Professional serves as a liaison to public schools and community agencies regarding the College's Dual Credit Program. Provides support to students, parents, and school district partners as it relates to program recruitment, enrollment, and transition services.
Supplemental Information

Other Duties:
Will participate in other college activities as needed.
Travel Requirements:
Must have a valid Texas driver's license and travel throughout the college district, as needed.
Environment:
Work is generally performed in an office setting with frequent interruptions and changes in the workflow/volume, in high school and/or community locations. Will require some outdoor work for events.
