Dean
The Dean works in collaboration with the Chief Academic Officer and other administrators, Coordinators, and Faculty in the development and implementation of college policies and procedures. The Dean is responsible for all aspects of Academic courses found in the ACGM, WECM, the college Prep Studies, and General Education Core.
Job Duties and Responsibilities- Serve as the lead general education/Academic officer, supervising the development, implementation, communication, and evaluation of the curriculum.
- Provide oversight for the master course list in the CORE curriculum and Dual Enrollment programs with student success in sight.
- Provide direction to all faculty, including evaluations and recommendations for continued employment and assist with workshops for faculty training and development.
- Credential of full-time and part-time instructors, as per approved SACSCOC procedures.
- Supervise faculty ensuring appropriate workloads per contract, office hours, professional development (Academy of Professional Learning), and in completing annual course/program assessments, Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) and program review.
- Oversee the development of course schedules with the Division Coordinator, the Vice President of Instruction and assists in the development of the College Course Catalog for General Education Courses.
- Build and foster collaborative programs within the college District at all sites and support the office of the Chief Academic Officer in external initiatives such as articulation agreements with universities, K-12 connections and community partnerships.
- Formulate and maintain the annual budget and assume responsibility for departments operating under the approved budget for the academic divisions.
- Represent the College district by participating in appropriate national, state, and local councils, committees, boards, and organizations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the College President and the Chief Academic Officer.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education. Three (3) years' experience in higher education, with demonstrated progressive supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Doctorate in related field. Five (5) years' experience in higher education, with demonstrated progressive supervisory responsibility. Must have excellent communication skills, knowledge of accrediting agency guidelines such as THECB and SACSCOC and specialized knowledge of one or more areas within the Academics Division. Experience teaching in higher education/community college environment required.

Will participate in college responsibilities such as professional development, strategic planning, appropriate Committees and SACSCOC compliances.
Travel Requirements:
Travel to all CBC sites, conferences, meetings, community events, etc. required.
