Research Associate – Beeville Agency, Texas A&M Agrilife Research Department

Job Location:

Beeville, Texas. Job Type: Staff.

Position Information

The Texas A&M Agri Life Research – Beeville Station is seeking a motivated, team‑oriented Research Associate to support ongoing beef cattle nutrition and reproductive physiology research programs. Responsibilities include performing animal husbandry and technical procedures with cattle, supervising data collection and record‑keeping for research and farm records, managing research activities and supervising lab personnel.

Responsibilities
  • Help manage research projects related to beef cattle nutrition and reproductive physiology.
  • Perform independent or supervisory research activities requiring advanced knowledge, intellectual judgment, and discretion.
  • Coordinate with outside vendors for laboratory, livestock, and farm supplies.
  • Organize work schedules for all farm employees and coordinate with Human Resources.
  • Collaborate with principal investigator and graduate students in preparing and performing research projects.
  • Evaluate and apply standard techniques of routine research; keep detailed records of data.
  • Install, operate, and repair research equipment.
  • Summarize results for inclusion in scientific and client‑oriented publications.
  • Perform general laboratory maintenance and record keeping.
  • Perform general farm tasks and animal husbandry.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Two years of related professional experience.
  • Strong background in cattle management and production systems.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi‑task and work cooperatively with others.
  • Ability to effectively utilize a computer and applicable software to present data and perform related tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in animal science or a related field.
  • Experience in general laboratory tasks.
  • Experience with record keeping.
