- Working with the Behavioral and Social Science Dean and Teacher Education Department Coordinator in creating syllabi, tests, and other documents related to instruction.
- Preparing and distributing class syllabus and reviewing with students.
- Delivering a full session of instruction as assigned.
- Assessing student outcomes through exams, quizzes, and other graded assignments where appropriate.
- Communicating with students to support learning and goal achievement; referring students to services available to them as needed.
- Submit required attendance, grades, and other information on time based on the requirements of the Academic Affairs division.
- Adhering to FERPA records protection laws.
- Following the College's practices and procedures and performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
This job opening is for both online and in-person instruction. Employees of Harford Community College, including instructors for online and virtual courses, must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, or the District of Columbia. Work is generally performed on the College campus unless otherwise specified.
Education, Experience & AbilitiesRequired
Education:
Bachelor s degree in education or a closely related field required, master s degree preferred.
Required Experience: Expertise in the field of study for instructional assignment.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities- Ability to provide instruction in person, virtual, and online as required by the College.
- Proficiency in required instructional and communication software as designated by the College.
- Ability to work and cooperate with co-workers and supervisors at all levels.
- Ability to work with, within, and promote a diverse workforce and environment.
- Ability to coordinate the activities of several ongoing projects.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to understand and act on oral and written instructions in English.
- Ability to maintain customer service and satisfaction as it relates to assigned unit or area of expertise.
- Ability to learn and perform all essential job functions accurately.
