Travel Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) Job – 13-Week Contract | 3x12 Rotating Days/Nights | Bel Air, MD 21014

Travel RN opportunity for an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) in Bel Air, Maryland (21014). Bring your maternal-newborn nursing skills to a high-acuity Family Birthplace supporting antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn transition in an LDRP environment with a Level II Special Care Nursery. This is an on-site travel nursing contract in Bel Air, MD—a welcoming community with plenty of local spots to explore and ways to unwind between shifts.

• Shift Pattern: 3x12s rotating days/nights (three-week cycle of days then nights)
• Shift Duration: 12-hour shifts
• Shift Times: Days 07:00–19:30 / Nights 19:00–07:30
• Manager Consideration: Straight nights may be considered
• Weekends: Every other weekend
• Holidays: As scheduled
• On-Call: Not required
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Estimated Weekly Pay Range: $2,070–$2,180

• Unit Snapshot: LDRP with Level II Special Care Nursery; 14 LDRP rooms, 2 triage beds, 2 antenatal testing bays, 2 ORs, 2 PACU bays, 9 overflow beds, 9-bed Special Care Nursery; ~105 deliveries/month
• Typical Ratios (by stage of care): Triage 1:4;
  Early labor/induction 1:2;
  Active labor 1:1; C-section 1:1;
  Postpartum 1:4
• Floating: May float within the specialty and sister units as needed

• Experience: 2+ years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience required (first-time travel nurses welcome)
• License: Active Maryland RN license (or compact privilege where applicable) at time of submission
• Certifications (Required): BLS (AHA), NRP (NRP or AAP accepted)
• Preferred Certifications: ACLS, STABLE, FHM, AWHONN (Beginner/Intermediate/Advanced)
• Charting: Epic experience preferred
• References: Two professional references from recent employers (one supervisor/manager; one charge RN acceptable)

• Provide comprehensive maternal-newborn nursing care across antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn transition in an LDRP setting
• Perform OB triage assessments, support antenatal testing (e.g., NSTs), and escalate changes in maternal/fetal status promptly
• Manage inductions and high-risk labor patients, including medication titration and monitoring (e.g., oxytocin/Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, antihypertensives, insulin drips) per protocol
• Interpret fetal monitoring (external/internal), recognize non-reassuring patterns, and initiate evidence-based interventions (IUPC/spiral electrode use as indicated)
• Assist with vaginal deliveries and high-risk deliveries; support newborn stabilization and neonatal resuscitation as needed
• Circulate and recover C-sections, collaborating closely with anesthesia, providers, and the interdisciplinary care team
• Provide postpartum and couplet care, including hemorrhage response, pre-eclampsia monitoring, breastfeeding support, and discharge education
• Partner with interdisciplinary support services (IV team, respiratory, pharmacy, social services, etc.) to ensure safe, coordinated patient care
