Registered Nurse – Cardiac Tele (MS/Tele)
Facility: University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Medical Center
Location: Bel Air, MD
Unit: 3E CPU – Combined MS/Tele
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Start Date: 03/23/2026
Shift: Nights – 3x12 (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Schedule: Every Other Weekend
Hours: 36 Hours/Week
Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced MS/Tele RN for a combined Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (CPU). This unit manages higher acuity cardiac and medical patients. Candidates must have strong PCU experience and be comfortable managing complex cardiac cases.
Requirements:
- 2 years recent MS/Tele experience (Required)
- PCU experience required (combined higher acuity unit)
- First-time travelers accepted with strong CPU/PCU background
- Active Maryland RN License or Compact License
- BLS (AHA Required)
- CPI Certification
- NIHSS (Required)
- ACLS (Preferred)
- Epic experience Required
- Must live 50 miles from facility
Patient Information:
- Patient Ratio: 1:5–6
- Average Daily Census: 30
- Beds: 30 (22 Rooms)
- Patient Population: Adult / Geriatric
- Common Diagnoses:
- CHF
- COPD Exacerbation
- NSTEMI
- New Onset A-Fib
- Arrhythmias
- Sepsis
- Renal Failure / AKI
Required Clinical
Skills:
- Cardiac telemetry monitoring (unit & remote)
- Dysrhythmia interpretation & management
- Pre/Post cardiac cath care
- Post-MI management
- Heparin protocols
- Cardiac drip management (no titration)
- Blood product administration
- Chest tube management (Emerson/Pleur Evac)
- Rapid Response / Code Team participation
- Isolation precautions & PPE compliance
Floating: Required within hospital
