Travel RN - ICU

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift travel assignment requiring 2+ years of ICU experience and ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications.

• Active MD state or Compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2+ years of ICU nursing experience required
• Skilled in respiratory and thoracic care including chest tube insertion/removal assistance and ventilated patient care
• Proficient in ABG interpretation, IV therapy, and blood product administration
• Experience with central line and PICC line care and management
• Skilled in continuous IV sedation and administration of emergency medications
• Experience with CVVHD/CRRT for renal management
• Knowledge of hypothermia protocol and Arctic Sun equipment
• Proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience with Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) management

• Work in the ICU, including Surgical ICU, of a hospital environment
• Care for critically ill patients with diagnoses including stroke, renal failure requiring CRRT, MI with IABP, respiratory failure, pneumonia, post cardiac arrest, and DKA
• Utilizes specialized equipment including ceiling lifts, central line carts, universal critical airway carts, chest tube carts, temp pacer carts, bronch carts, chemo carts, CRRT carts, and Malignant Hyperthermia carts
• Uses Epic EMR for charting
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 07:30
• Required to work every 3rd weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required within specialty and acuity level, with travelers prioritized for floating assignments
• Deliver critical care nursing to a complex and diverse ICU patient population
• Respond to cardiac and respiratory emergencies with appropriate interventions
• Maintain infection prevention protocols in a high-acuity care setting
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates residing 50+ miles from the facility are eligible for the standard travel rate
