American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift travel assignment requiring 2+ years of ICU experience and ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications.
Requirements- Active MD state or Compact RN license required
- Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 2+ years of ICU nursing experience required
- Skilled in respiratory and thoracic care including chest tube insertion/removal assistance and ventilated patient care
- Proficient in ABG interpretation, IV therapy, and blood product administration
- Experience with central line and PICC line care and management
- Skilled in continuous IV sedation and administration of emergency medications
- Experience with CVVHD/CRRT for renal management
- Knowledge of hypothermia protocol and Arctic Sun equipment
- Proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Experience with Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) management
- Work in the ICU, including Surgical ICU, of a hospital environment
- Care for critically ill patients with diagnoses including stroke, renal failure requiring CRRT, MI with IABP, respiratory failure, pneumonia, post cardiac arrest, and DKA
- Utilizes specialized equipment including ceiling lifts, central line carts, universal critical airway carts, chest tube carts, temp pacer carts, bronch carts, chemo carts, CRRT carts, and Malignant Hyperthermia carts
- Uses Epic EMR for charting
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 07:30
- Required to work every 3rd weekend
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating required within specialty and acuity level, with travelers prioritized for floating assignments
- Deliver critical care nursing to a complex and diverse ICU patient population
- Respond to cardiac and respiratory emergencies with appropriate interventions
- Maintain infection prevention protocols in a high-acuity care setting
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates residing 50+ miles from the facility are eligible for the standard travel rate
