Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible. - Current Maine Health member employees are ineligible; former Maine Health Members are ineligible until greater than 6 months separation from employment.
This is a full-time, 36-hour per week position.
Maine Health is looking for a Medical Assistant to join our Nephrology team in Belfast!

As a Medical Assistant in Nephrology, you’ll play an important role in supporting patients with kidney conditions and helping keep their care moving smoothly. From rooming patients and supporting providers to updating clinical information, responding to patient needs, and helping coordinate care, you’ll be an essential part of the team.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)- Education: High School diploma or GED preferred. Must meet one of the following requirements:
Graduated from an accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience completed; or completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program and 6 months of clinical experience in a practice setting; or 1 year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice setting (equivalent experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis). - License/
Certifications:
Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, or NCCT certification required. (Prior to 5/01/25 MA IIs with 10 years MA experience and employed by Maine Health as a MA in the most recent 5 years are exempt from certification requirement). Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. Fully remote care team members are exempt from BLS certification requirement.
A NH Med Tech License, or NH EMT and National Registry EMT license is required for those positions located in New Hampshire. - Experience: Six months of experience as a Medical Assistant or one year as a Maine Health Clinical Team Assistant.

The pay range for this position is $21.09 to $27.12 per hour.
Compensation for part-time positions is determined on a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
