An inclusive youth-led movement of young Mainers working in solidarity for human dignity, access and a livable future by building power across rural and suburban Maine. Maine is a rural state and there is huge potential for organizing and building power among otherwise isolated rural youth who are frequently overlooked and underserved by national movements for social change. We’re fighting for a connected state where rural youth have the resources, skills, and community they need to create change in their communities, and build coalitions across issue areas.

• A self-directed individual passionate about using your writing, data management and finance skills to support youth-led community organizing in Maine.
• Dedicated to creating environments that are pro-black, pro-indigenous, pro-queer & trans, and liberatory spaces

• Able to effectively manage deadlines and be a proactive communicator

• Experience in non-profit 501c(3) and 501c(4) operations, grant management, and finances.

OR

• Strong communication skills (written and oral), experience with data management, and an excitement to learn grant management and other financial operations of a youth-led non-profit.

You will be a key member of our director team, handling administrative tasks, writing grants on behalf of MYP, and bringing your creativity and expertise to optimize our internal systems and organizational structure. A successful candidate will be very organized and able to keep track of multiple projects and important deadlines. • Lead administrative tasks to support the MYP staff, such as approving hours, submitting mileage reimbursements and approving invoice payments.
• Co-lead MYP’s grants process, including researching, writing, tracking deadlines and applying for grants on behalf of MYP
• Lead administrative onboarding and technical support with new hires.
• Co-develop and build organization budget and track incoming funds, costs and provide weekly updates to director team
• Co-support relationships with fiscal sponsor around money, budget tracking and reimbursements

• Fluency and ability to learn new financial management systems including google sheets and payroll platforms.
• Grant writing experience or experience promoting an organization via written communication
• Able to take on self directed projects and communicate effectively.
• Enjoys a communicative team environment.

• Experience with building a budget and tracking funds, quarterly and monthly
• Leading grassroots donor campaigns to grow sustained income in a nonprofit setting

• Located in Maine, has reliable transportation, has a laptop, and a smartphone.
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk working on a computer
• Requires occasional travel around Maine for meetings with the team
