Seasonal Ecologist – Summer Season

Jacobs invites motivated individuals to join our Ecology team for a zero‑hour summer placement. Work alongside experienced survey leads, bat specialists, ornithologists, botanists and protected species experts on infrastructure and environmental projects across Ireland.

• Support ecological teams on a variety of projects
• Assist with field surveys, data collection and monitoring activities
• Contribute to survey planning and logistics
• Produce high‑quality ecological data and deliverables
• Assist with technical reporting

• A degree in ecology or a related discipline
• Motivated, proactive and enthusiastic about a career in ecology
• Eligible or working towards CIEEM membership
• Organised, dependable and strong time‑management skills
• Comfortable working as part of a team and in the field
• Willing to travel and stay away from home (up to 4 nights per week during peak survey periods)
• Previous experience in ecological surveys or fieldwork
• Experience or interest in bat or ornithology surveys (highly valued)
• A full driving licence
